[ENG] Otokogirai na Bijin Shimai wo Namae mo Tsugezuni Tasuketara Ittaidounaru V6 Chapter 1

Chapter 1 Ball game tournament before summer vacation

Before summer break, there’s always the end-of-term exams, but at our high school, there’s another big event that takes the spotlight—the sports festival.

Guys get to pick between soccer or basketball, while the girls choose between volleyball or basketball. I went with soccer, and right now, we’re in the middle of gym class, practicing for the big day.

“Domoto!”

“—Got it!” I called back, snapping my focus to the moment.

A soccer ball came my way, and I caught it cleanly. But before I could make a move, a guy twice my size loomed in front of me, blocking my path like a wall.

“…”

I hesitated, weighing my options, when I spotted a teammate raising his hand in the corner of my vision. I passed the ball to him without a fuss. He took off, dribbling toward the goal, and nailed a clean shot.

(…Man, the soccer club guys are on another level.)

In events like these, you either team up with or go against kids from the sports clubs who live and breathe this stuff. That’s part of what makes the sports festival so thrilling.

“God, it’s hot,” I muttered.

It’s not peak summer yet, but July’s heat is no joke. Just standing outside is enough to make you sweat buckets, and chasing a ball around? My breath was ragged, and the sweat just wouldn’t stop.

“…Phew.”

I jog a bit on weekends, but this was intense. Raising my hand to signal a break, I swapped out with a classmate watching from the sidelines and headed toward the water fountain near the gym to hydrate.

“Wait… Hayato…!” a voice gasped behind me.

“You okay…?” I turned to see Sota, looking like he was on the verge of collapse.

Kaito had picked basketball, so he wasn’t here, but Sota chose soccer and ended up on my team. Problem was, he looked like he was dying—his face pale, his breathing heavy. The guy was clearly not built for this.

“Huff… huff… Damn it! This is brutal for an indoor guy like me…!” Sota wheezed.

“Maybe if you exercised once in a while, you wouldn’t be dying,” I teased.

“Who’s got time for that…!?” he shot back.

“You mean you just don’t bother,” I said, smirking.

“Well… yeah, that too… huff… huff…”

Seriously, though, isn’t he too wiped out? Kaito had been breezing through basketball like it was nothing, but Sota was practically a ghost with how pale he looked. Talk about out of shape.

“You’re so beat, I’m starting to wonder if you’re sick or something,” I said.

“Maybe… I should start working out…” he mumbled.

He chugged water like it was his lifeline, trying to recover. After we both rehydrated, we headed to the gym to check on Kaito.

The schoolyard had been buzzing with practice energy, but the gym was just as intense. The space was split in half—guys on one side, girls on the other—and the girls’ cheers echoed the loudest.

“Whoa, they’re going hard,” Sota said.

“Talk about hype,” I agreed.

The girls’ volleyball game was stealing the show with their shouts. And then—

“…Oh.”

I spotted Arisa playing volleyball. I’d seen her in gym clothes before, but her hair tied back in a ponytail for ease of movement was a rare sight. It felt… fresh, somehow.

“Geez, all you can see is Shinjo sister,” Sota grumbled.

“Can you blame me? She’s my girlfriend,” I shot back.

“Man, you don’t even try to hide it anymore!” he said, laughing.

Well, Sota’s the only one around who knows the deal, so I don’t need to. He playfully smacked my shoulder, but his gaze softened as it flicked between me and Arisa. It was different from before—kinder, like he was genuinely happy for us.

I couldn’t just stare at Arisa forever, though, so I started moving to cheer for Kaito. But then Sota let out a surprised, “Oh!”

“What’s up?” I asked.

“Shinjo-san’s looking this way,” he said.

“Huh?”

I turned back, and sure enough, our eyes met. Arisa had just switched out with another player and was wiping sweat off with a towel, her gaze fixed on me. After a quick word with a friend, she started walking toward us.

Her hair clung to her sweat-dampened skin, giving her an almost sultry aura. With her striking figure drawing every eye in the room, she walked with a confidence that ignored the stares, heading straight for us.

“Taking a break too, Hayato-kun? Miyanaga-kun?” she said with a bright smile, casually standing beside me.

“I was going to come over even if it was just Hayato-kun, but with Miyanaga-kun here, it’s even less conspicuous, right?” she added with a teasing lilt.

“That’s true,” I said, chuckling.

“What am I, a wall to hide your flirting?” Sota said, but he grinned. “Fine, whatever!”

Arisa’s smile matched his, and the three of us sat down together, turning our attention to Kaito. He must’ve noticed us watching because his movements on the basketball court got sharper. Sure, he’s usually the loud, goofy guy we mess around with, but seeing him sweat and focus on the game? Honestly, pretty cool. He’s no sports club star, but his athleticism made him a reliable player.

“If I’d finished earlier, I could’ve gone to watch your soccer game,” Arisa said with a hint of regret.

“No big deal,” I said. “Besides, it’s stupidly hot out there.”

“Hot? That’s nothing compared to the joy of watching you give it your all,” she replied smoothly.

“…Yeah?” I said, feeling my face heat up.

“Yup,” she said with a nod.

She scooted closer—close enough that our shoulders brushed. For a second, it looked like she was about to lean her head on my shoulder, like she does at home, but she caught herself, blushing and looking down.

“I-I almost leaned on you like I do at home…” she whispered, embarrassed.

“…”

It’s something we do all the time, but in a place like this, it was enough to make her shy. That bashful side of her was so adorable I couldn’t help but smile. Then I felt a piercing stare from the other side and turned to see Sota glaring at me.

“What?” I asked.

“Back in the day, I’d have just thought you two were close,” he said. “But now that I know the deal, all I can think is, ‘Explode, you lucky jerk!’”

“Jealous?” Arisa teased, her tone playful but direct.

“Don’t just say it, Shinjo-san!” Sota yelped.

Arisa’s bluntness landed like a knockout punch. Sota dramatically flopped onto the ground, playing it up with an exaggerated groan.

“Look, Aoshima-kun just scored!” Arisa pointed out.

“Whoa!” I said.

“Nice one!” Sota cheered, sitting up.

Kaito had sunk a shot and was high-fiving his teammates. He swapped out with another player and jogged over to us, wiping sweat with a towel before plopping down next to Sota.

“Man, I was in the zone!” he said.

“Good job, Kaito,” I said.

“Nice work!” Sota added.

“Well done, Aoshima-kun,” Arisa said with a smile.

With Kaito here, we were almost complete—just missing Aina, who’s in a different class. Was it selfish to wish she were here too?

“Hey, Kaito,” Sota said. “Now that we know about Hayato and Shinjo-san, doesn’t it change how you see them?”

“For real!” Kaito agreed. “But Sota’s doing a great job as a wall, right? Makes it less suspicious when Hayato and Shinjo-san are together like this.”

“I thought I was a wall, but you don’t have to say it!” Sota groaned.

“…Oh, right!” Kaito suddenly exclaimed, as if remembering something. “So, my mom got out of the hospital, right? I was talking with my dad about what happened while she was in there, and I mentioned you guys and the Shinjo sisters. She said she wants to thank you all.”

His words brought back a recent memory. Sota and I had noticed something off with Kaito, and we learned his mom had been in an accident. One thing led to another, and not only did Sota and I help out at Kaito’s family flower shop, but Arisa and Aina pitched in too.

“You don’t need to thank us,” Arisa said. “Hayato-kun and Miyanaga-kun, maybe, but Aina and I just jumped in because we wanted to.”

“No way!” Kaito protested. “You two helped so much. My dad and I had a blast because of you. I’m not trying to push, but Mom really wants to meet you to say thanks.”

“…I see,” Arisa said, touching her chin thoughtfully.

I jumped in.

“Sounds like a good idea, right? You and Aina were worried about her even after we stopped helping at the shop.”

Sure, we knew she was fine after the hospital, but an accident’s still a big deal. Arisa and Aina had been concerned about her well-being even after we were done helping.

“It’s a good chance to see her,” I added. “She’s… intense, sure, and might catch you off guard, but meeting her will probably put you at ease.”

Arisa nodded. “Alright, I’m in.”

“Awesome, thanks, Shinjo-san!” Kaito said. “Your sister’s not here, though. Will she—”

“Aina will jump at the chance when I tell her,” Arisa assured him. “Don’t worry.”

“Sweet!” Kaito grinned.

As I leaned toward Sota, who was poking my shoulder, he whispered, “You know how Kaito’s mom gets with people she likes, right? Won’t she overwhelm Shinjo-san and Aina?”

“Well…” I started.

She does dote on people she likes—Kaito, obviously, but Sota and me too. If she meets beauties like Arisa and Aina? It won’t be bad, but I bet she’ll bond with them even more than we expect.

“No need to worry,” I said. “If anything, her energy will reassure them she’s doing great.”

“Haha, true!” Sota agreed.

Our little whispered chat didn’t go unnoticed, of course, since Arisa and Kaito were right there.

“Hey, what’s with the secret talk?” Arisa asked, grabbing my shoulder.

“Keeping us out of the loop? That’s cold!” Kaito said, slinging an arm around Sota’s neck.

They weren’t doing it on purpose, but their playful glares pinned us in place. Lucky for us, a voice called out just in time.

“Arisa! Come back for a sec!” one of her friends shouted.

“Oh…” Arisa said, looking a bit disappointed as she stood. “Guess I have to go. See you later, Hayato-kun.”

“Later,” I replied.

I watched her head back to her friends, letting out a small breath. But then Kaito slid into her spot, flashing an annoying smirk.

“So that’s what it’s like, huh?” he teased.

“Shut up,” I grumbled, shoving his arm off me.

“So, what were you whispering about?” he asked.

“Just how your mom dotes on people,” I said. “Like, what’s she gonna do when she meets Arisa and Aina?”

“…Oh,” Kaito said, his smirk fading as he imagined the chaos. “I was so stoked about her getting out of the hospital I forgot. She’s like that, isn’t she?”

“You’re her son, and you forgot?” Sota jabbed.

I nodded in agreement. Like we said, she dotes on us hard, so with Arisa and Aina? It’ll be something, but it’ll be fun. She’s genuinely a great person.

Gym class wrapped up after that, but I felt a weird twinge as I headed back to the classroom.

“…?”

My thigh felt tight, like it was cramping up.

“What’s wrong?” Sota asked.

“Step on something?” Kaito added.

“Nah,” I said, rubbing my thigh. The tension eased, and there was no pain, so it seemed fine. “Felt a little tight, that’s all. Probably went too hard for the sports festival.”

“Hmm,” Kaito said.

“Be careful,” Sota warned. “You don’t want an injury right before summer break.”

“Yeah,” I agreed.

A minor injury wouldn’t be the end of the world, but anything that messes with summer break would suck. I didn’t want to worry Sota and Kaito—or Arisa and Aina, for that matter.

“I’ll make sure to massage it in the bath later,” I said.

“Good call,” Sota said.

“If anything happens, we’ll take care of you… Oh, wait, you’ve got your lovely girlfriends for that, huh?” Kaito teased.

“Shut it,” I said, lightly smacking Sota’s shoulder.

We bantered as we headed back to the classroom to change. Soon after, Arisa and the other girls returned.

“I ran into Aina on the way,” Arisa said. “I told her about after school.”

“Thanks,” I said.

“No problem,” she replied with a smile. “She’s super excited, but… hehe.”

“What?” I asked.

“Nothing,” she said, flashing a smug, knowing grin.

“??”

Her cryptic smile bugged me, but then a massive yawn hit me, reminding me how tough this time of day is.

“Whoa, that’s a big yawn,” Arisa said, laughing.

“I always get sleepy around now,” I admitted. “Plus, after all that exercise… And we’ve got English and classics next. Brutal combo.”

“Let’s tough it out,” Arisa said. “If you start dozing, I’ll poke you awake.”

“Haha, I can’t make you do that,” I said. “I’ll manage.”

With that bold declaration, I powered through English and classics like my life depended on it. When the final bell rang, it felt like I’d won a war.

After homeroom, I left school with Sota and Kaito, parting ways with them to wait for Arisa and Aina. A few minutes later, they showed up—and Aina launched herself at me.

“Hayato-kun!” she cried.

“!?”

In that moment, I saw everything. Her generous chest bounced as she ran, popping a button on her blouse. Her short skirt flipped up, revealing black underwear in full view.

Thud!

Her cute shout was followed by the impact of her crashing into me. I caught her, instinctively wrapping my arms around her back to hold her close.

“Well, that’s about right,” Arisa said, unfazed.

“Of course!” Aina said. “Nee-san egged me on!”

“Egged you on?” I asked, confused.

Aina looked up, stretched on her tiptoes, and kissed me. The suddenness startled me, but with no one around, I kissed her back.

(Maybe this is my reward for surviving that sleepy afternoon.)

Kissing them is something I could do anytime, but cherishing every moment like this feels right.

“Outside, so just a peck, okay?” Aina said with a mischievous grin.

“…”

Her words were a clear hint—if we weren’t outside, she’d be going for a full-on, tongue-tangling kiss.

“So… what’s this about ‘egging you on’?” I asked, flustered by Aina’s expectant expression but too curious to let it go.

“Oh! Right, that!” Aina exclaimed. “Nee-san came to tell me about Aoshima-kun’s mom, which was fine and all. But then she started bragging about how she got all lovey-dovey with you during gym class!”

“…Oh, that’s what this is about,” I said, piecing it together.

Sure, there were people around, but if you’d call what we did “sneaky flirting,” I guess that’s fair. Seeing Aina puff out her cheeks, I could vividly imagine how Arisa must’ve teased her about it, rubbing it in with a smug grin.

“So, from now until we get to Aoshima-kun’s place, I’m the only one who gets to be lovey-dovey with Hayato-kun!” Aina declared triumphantly.

“Fine, I’ll let you have this one,” Arisa said with a playful huff.

“Take that, you wicked temptress! You big-boobed vixen!” Aina shot back.

“Wicked temptress? Really? And ‘big-boobed vixen’ is rich coming from you!” Arisa countered.

Oh man, these two are full of energy. Their silly, low-blow banter was so ridiculous it was almost endearing to watch.

“C’mon, Hayato-kun, let’s go!” Aina said, grabbing my arm with a tug strong enough to pull me along.

Arisa, who’d been chuckling at the exchange, quickly caught up, and the three of us headed to Kaito’s place.

We arrived at the familiar flower shop and greeted Kaito’s dad, who was standing out front.

“Yo! Hey there, Ojisan!” Aina chirped.

“Hello,” Arisa said politely.

“Well, well! Hayato-kun and the lovely ladies!” Ojisan welcomed us with a warm smile.

As we exchanged pleasantries, Sota and Kaito appeared from inside the shop.

“You guys made it!” Sota called out.

“Been waiting for ya!” Kaito added with a grin.

Now, only one person was missing—the whole reason we were here today, and someone I’d been eager to see again.

“Hayato-chan’s here!?” a voice boomed from the back.

“Oh, Oba-san—” I started.

Out came a sturdy woman leaning on crutches—Kaito’s mom. Like Sota’s mom, she’s someone who dotes on us like we’re her own kids.

“Hey, Oba-san,” I said.

“Welcome, Hayato-chan! Sorry I’m in such a state, but come here, come here!” she said, beckoning me closer.

“Yes, ma’am,” I replied, stepping forward.

She placed a hand on my head, ruffling my hair affectionately. Even though we’d been in touch the whole time, her being hospitalized after the accident made this feel like a long-overdue reunion.

“I’m so glad you’re okay, Oba-san,” I said sincerely.

“Sorry for worrying you,” she replied. “I heard you kids helped out with the shop while I was gone.”

“Haha, well, we wanted to, and it was a good experience,” I said, scratching the back of my head.

“Good, good,” she said, beaming.

Her smile and our familiar banter hadn’t changed a bit. I glanced at Sota, who looked exhausted—probably from soaking up all of Oba-san’s affection before we got here. Wait… now that I think about it, that’s kind of intimidating. But before I could dwell on it, Oba-san’s gaze landed on the two girls behind me.

“…Oh my!” she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up as if she’d found new treasures to shower with affection.

“Hello! Nice to meet you!” Aina said cheerfully.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m glad to see you’ve recovered,” Arisa added with a polite bow.

Oba-san wasted no time hobbling over—then, to our shock, she tossed her crutches aside!

“Oba-san, your crutches!” I shouted.

“What’re you doing!?” Sota yelped.

“Mom!?” Kaito cried.

We were all freaking out, but Ojisan just stared off into the distance, muttering, “Yup, that’s about right. Good to see her back to her old self.”

Is that really okay, Ojisan!? A broken leg doesn’t heal that fast—it’s common sense! But Oba-san, completely ignoring her injury, enveloped Arisa and Aina in a bear hug, laughing as she practically smothered them.

“Haha, that tickles!” Aina giggled.

“…This is certainly a new experience,” Arisa said, a bit bemused.

Just as I’d predicted, Oba-san’s doting mode had kicked into overdrive. We knew she’d go wild for Arisa and Aina, but tossing her crutches? That was next-level. Seriously, what’s going on!?

“…?” I blinked.

“Oba-san?” Aina asked.

“Oba-sama?” Arisa added.

Suddenly, Oba-san froze. All of us—Arisa, Aina, and the guys—stared, wondering what was wrong. Then it hit her—she remembered her broken leg.

“Ow, ow, ow, ow! I got so caught up in how cute you girls are, I forgot about my leg!” she groaned.

“Are you okay!?” I asked, rushing to her side.

I knew her leg must hurt, but the whole scene was so absurd it felt like a comedy skit. Despite ourselves, we burst out laughing, knowing it was rude but unable to help it.

“Don’t laugh!” Oba-san scolded, though her own lips twitched.

“Sorry… pfft,” I managed.

“My apologies… snicker,” Arisa said.

“Bwahaha!” Kaito roared, not even trying to hold it in.

His over-the-top, theatrical laugh earned him a death glare from Oba-san, who clearly wasn’t amused.

“An ogre hag!?” Kaito teased.

“Who’re you calling an ogre hag!?” she shot back.

This whole exchange was happening right in front of the shop, turning us into a public spectacle. Customers and passersby gave us amused looks, clearly charmed by the chaos.

“…Can someone with a broken leg really move like that?” Arisa asked, analyzing the situation with a cool head.

“That’s not how it works, Arisa,” I said, just as calmly throwing in a retort.

We couldn’t loiter outside forever, so we were ushered into the house.

“Thanks for helping out, Arisa-chan, Aina-chan,” Oba-san said warmly.

“No big deal! We’d do it anytime,” Aina replied.

“Piece of cake!” Aina added with a grin.

Everyone was here except Ojisan, who was manning the shop. Oba-san, still recovering, could only handle the cash register, but thanks to Ojisan’s arrangements, she was with us today.

“Man, Kaito told me, but you two are absolute stunners,” Oba-san said, now calm enough to really take them in. “I can feel it even more now that I’m not so hyper.”

“Thank you,” Arisa said gracefully.

“Hehe, ‘stunners,’ huh, Nee-san?” Aina teased.

No kidding—they’re drop-dead gorgeous. Sota, Kaito, and I nodded in unison, and Arisa laughed at our synchronized reaction.

With juice and snacks set out, a fun time kicked off. Mostly, it was Oba-san monopolizing Arisa and Aina’s attention, but seeing them enjoy themselves made me happy.

“…This is nice,” I murmured.

“What is?” Sota asked.

“Even if I wasn’t here, seeing them smile like that would be enough for me,” I said.

“Hmm…” Sota said, then grinned mischievously. “What if some other guy was here instead?”

“…” I froze.

“Kidding, kidding! Don’t give me that void-stare!” he backpedaled.

“That’s on you, man,” Kaito said, smacking Sota’s head.

I’m not sure if my face actually went blank, but I definitely didn’t want to imagine that scenario. Still, it’s why I’m working so hard to be someone worthy of staying by their side—someone they’d never regret choosing.

“Who knows what the future holds,” I said. “But I want to be the kind of guy Arisa and Aina will always want by their side. They say they do now, which I’m grateful for, but I can’t get complacent. It just fires me up to keep improving.”

“Whoa…” Kaito said, impressed.

“Having someone that important really makes you seem… bigger, somehow,” Sota added.

I felt honored to be seen that way, but it was also kind of embarrassing. The guys munched on snacks while we watched the girls chat animatedly with Oba-san.

“Well, I’d better help with the register,” Oba-san said, standing up—without her crutches.

We all froze, but she winced, clearly feeling the pain. “I keep forgetting about this darn injury when I’m having fun.”

“Oba-san, please be careful,” Aina said, genuinely worried.

“Haha, thanks, Aina-chan,” she replied.

While Aina fretted, the rest of us huddled together.

“Kaito, your mom is still injured, right?” I whispered.

“Supposed to be…” he said uncertainly.

“Keep an eye on her,” Sota urged.

“I know, I know,” Kaito said.

“Dude, you and your dad are her only hope,” I added.

“Right!” Kaito nodded, looking determined.

This was serious—Kaito had to step up. Oba-san’s injury was no joke, and her forgetting it in her excitement was exactly why she needed watching.

“She might start wandering around and forget where her crutches even are,” I said.

“No way… right?” Kaito asked, paling.

With her, you can’t be so sure, Kaito.

“Man, your mom’s got some energy,” Aina said. “She’s totally different from ours, but you can tell she’s awesome.”

“I was a bit shocked, but yeah, she’s definitely Aoshima-kun’s mom,” Arisa agreed.

“What’s that supposed to mean!?” Kaito protested.

Looks like Kaito’s officially the group’s punching bag now.

“…Never thought we’d all be hanging out like this again,” I muttered.

Everyone else nodded, chuckling in agreement.

“And this time, Miyanaga-kun and Aoshima-kun know about our relationship,” Aina said with a sly grin.

“Does that mean we don’t have to hold back as much?” Arisa asked, her tone teasing.

“Huh? Hold back?” Sota asked, intrigued.

Their cryptic smiles sent a chill down my spine, and I braced myself. Sure enough, Arisa and Aina snuggled up, each grabbing one of my arms and pressing close.

“Like this,” Arisa said.

“We do this all the time, right?” Aina added.

Well… maybe we do.

My heart still skips a beat every time they do this, and while I’m getting used to it, having it happen in front of my friends brought a whole new wave of embarrassment.

“This is straight out of a light novel!” Sota gasped.

“You lucky jerk!” Kaito groaned, his voice dripping with envy.

Under their jealous glares, I stuffed my face with snacks to escape the moment.

The conversation eventually shifted to another topic.

“So, Aina-san,” Kaito started. “What happened with that underclassman?”

“Underclassman?” Aina asked, tilting her head.

“You know, the one who had a thing for you,” Kaito clarified.

“Oh, that,” Aina said, remembering.

It was a recent incident—an underclassman who liked Aina sent me a threatening letter telling me to stay away from her.

“You haven’t mentioned anything, Hayato, so I figured it’s been quiet,” Sota said.

“But we did help come up with a plan, so I was curious,” Kaito added.

“Right, we had that meeting on the rooftop,” Arisa said. “And then Aina showed up out of nowhere and freaked everyone out.”

As Kaito said, we’d held a strategy session without Aina, but she’d appeared like a ghost, startling everyone—especially Arisa, who’d blurted out something hilarious.

“Nothing’s happened since,” Aina said. “No more letters, no confrontations. And… well…”

“Well?” I prompted.

“I’m kinda oblivious to things I don’t care about,” she admitted. “Like, I can’t even remember the names of people who don’t interest me.”

Sota and Kaito’s eyes widened at her bluntness. They looked at me, probably thinking there’s no way that’s true.

“I thought the same thing,” I said. “But with Aina, it’s legit.”

“Whoa…” Sota said.

“That’s… intense,” Kaito added.

Aina gave a cheeky grin. “But don’t worry—I remember you guys! Miyanaga Sota-kun and Aoshima Kaito-kun! Full names, nailed it!”

“Good to know,” Kaito said, relieved.

“I’d be crushed if you forgot us!” Sota laughed.

Aina’s words visibly eased their minds.

“But I know I can’t keep that up forever,” Aina said. “It’d be a problem as an adult, so I’m working on changing it.”

“Good,” Arisa said approvingly.

“Yup!” Aina chirped.

Arisa looked satisfied with her sister’s resolve. After that, we pulled out a gaming console at Kaito’s place and had a blast, even if it was just for a short while.

“This is just a game!” Arisa huffed, losing repeatedly to Aina’s quick reflexes.

“Aw, Nee-san’s such a scrub slug!” Aina teased.

Arisa grumbled while Aina gloated, and we even threw in some pity plays to let Arisa win. But honestly, just having fun with everyone here was what made me happiest.

“Well, time to head out,” I said, standing up.

Arisa and Aina followed suit. Between video games and a heated round of cards, time had slipped away, and it was getting late. Knowing Kaito’s parents, they’d probably insist we stay longer, but it was a weekday, so we couldn’t overstay.

“Aw, you’re leaving already?” Oba-san said, pouting.

“We’re sad to go, but…” Arisa said.

“We’ll come back!” Aina promised.

As expected, Oba-san tried to keep the girls there, and we all shared a wry smile.

“Hayato-kun, Sota-kun, come back anytime. You’re always welcome,” Ojisan said.

“Thanks,” I replied.

“You got it,” Sota added.

With that, we left the house. Sota split off soon after, leaving me with just Arisa and Aina. Despite the late hour, the summer sky was still bright.

“That was fun!” Aina said, bouncing along.

“Yeah…” Arisa said, then giggled. “Hehe…”

“Nee-san?” Aina asked.

“Sorry… pfft!” Arisa said, covering her mouth to stifle her laughter.

“What’s so funny?” I asked.

“I know it’s rude to laugh, and I feel bad for Oba-sama, but… forgetting her crutches was just too funny,” she said.

“Haha, yeah,” Aina laughed.

“I mean, it’s okay to laugh at that,” I said.

Arisa’s giggles set off Aina, and honestly, it was hard not to laugh at Oba-san’s comedic moment. Sota and I had been stunned at first, but it felt ruder not to laugh.

“But… I could only talk to Miyanaga-kun and Aoshima-kun like that because you were there, Hayato-kun,” Arisa said. “I’m still shy around guys who aren’t you.”

“Yeah,” Aina agreed. “Having you there made it easier, but we’re still kinda like that. Sota-kun and Kaito-kun are way easier to deal with than most people, though!”

“I’m glad you feel that way, even a little,” I said.

That’s more than enough for now, and I want to respect their feelings. We soon reached the Shinjo house.

“Well, I’ll head out—” I started, raising a hand to wave goodbye.

I hadn’t planned to stay, but my attempt to leave was cut short. Why? Because both girls were staring at me intently, grabbing my hands.

“Uh…” I stammered.

“…”

“…”

I gave a wry smile, knowing exactly what this meant, and walked between them to the door, opening it.

“I’m home!” I called out.

“Welcome back!” Aina chirped.

“Welcome home, Hayato-kun!” Arisa added.

And so, I ended up at the Shinjo house again today. Arisa mentioned that Sakuna-san had texted, saying she’d be back around six.

“Oh, Nee-san,” Aina said.

“What?” Arisa replied.

“You’re playing volleyball for the sports festival, right?”

“Yes… and so are you,” Arisa said, narrowing her eyes.

“Yup! We might end up facing each other!” Aina said with a grin.

“…True,” Arisa said.

They stood up from the sofa, locking eyes in a fierce stare-down, sparks practically flying between them.

(Depending on the matchups, their teams could go head-to-head…)

Wait. If that happens, who am I supposed to cheer for?

As I watched, their intense gazes didn’t waver, and I got a bad feeling about this.

“…I’m gonna hit the bathroom—” I said, trying to slip away.

But their eyes snapped to me before I could move.

“Hey, Hayato-kun,” Arisa said.

“Hey, hey, Hayato-kun,” Aina echoed.

“Y-Yes…?” I squeaked, my escape plan foiled.

Their serious stares pinned me in place, and they asked in unison:

“Who’re you cheering for?”

“Who’re you gonna cheer for?”

“…”

I knew they’d ask that!

“I-I…” I stammered.

“Well?” Arisa pressed.

“Well~?” Aina teased.

Their voices syncing up like that was downright terrifying! Their perfect harmony—down to the tone—was giving me horror-movie vibes. But no matter how much I tried to dodge, there was no escape.

“…Hehe,” Arisa giggled.

“Haha!” Aina laughed.

“Uh, you two?” I said, confused.

I’d been scrambling for an answer, but their sudden laughter caught me off guard. Their amused looks made it clear—they’d been teasing me.

“Sorry, that was a bit mean,” Arisa said.

“We were curious how you’d answer, though!” Aina added.

“You were so intense, it was scary!” I said, exasperated.

They kept laughing, petting my head as they apologized. I let them, then gave my honest answer.

“Well… since we’re in the same class, I’d probably cheer for Arisa. But honestly, I want to cheer for both of you.”

“That’s so you, Hayato-kun,” Arisa said warmly.

“Knew you’d say that!” Aina said with a grin. “But that means whoever wins with your cheers is the real MVP, right?”

“Exactly,” Arisa said. “I’m definitely winning.”

“No way, I’m gonna win!” Aina shot back.

Even knowing this wasn’t a real fight, watching them go at it was nerve-racking.

“But when Hayato-kun’s playing soccer, you’ll cheer for him too, right, Aina?” Arisa said.

“Duh! I’d go all out—maybe even be his personal cheerleader!” Aina said.

“Cheerleader…” I muttered, my mind instantly conjuring an image.

Arisa and Aina in cheerleader outfits—white short-sleeved shirts, short skirts, cheering with all their energy. I’d probably tap into some superhuman strength just watching them.

“Unlike the cultural festival, the sports festival’s scale makes cheerleader outfits unlikely,” Arisa said.

“Yeah, and I wouldn’t want anyone else seeing us anyway,” Aina said. “But doing it at home could be fun!”

“Not a bad idea,” Arisa agreed.

“For real?” I blurted out.

Oops, I reacted.

“I’m game!” Aina said. “I’m super flexible, so I could nail the moves. Like this!”

She lifted her leg into a perfect I-shaped balance.

“Whoa, that’s incredible…” I said.

Whether cheerleading needs that move or not, I had no idea Aina was that flexible.

(…Though I already know her chest is impressively soft.) Ahem, putting that aside.

Her flexibility was genuinely surprising, but looking closer, wasn’t this pose a bit too provocative? In her school uniform, her short skirt left her underwear fully exposed, and her curvy thighs and hips were on full display.

“Aina, that’s indecent,” Arisa scolded.

“But Hayato-kun’s loving it!” Aina teased.

“L-Loving it!?” I stammered.

“You’ve got that pervy look in your eyes~” she said, grinning.

I choked on my words. I mean, how could I not react like that!?

“Wanna take a closer look?” Aina purred, her words dripping with temptation.

My inner pervert was screaming, ready to give in to her allure.

Honestly, just watching Aina like this is a feast for the eyes. If anything, it’s calming me down.

“Not tired?” I asked.

“Totally fine!” Aina chirped.

“…Seriously, you’re incredible,” I said. “I never thought I’d get to see something like this up close.”

“Huh? Hayato-kun, you’re getting all calm now?” Aina asked, pouting.

“Yup,” I admitted.

“Boo!” she huffed, lowering her leg with a disappointed look before diving into my chest, nuzzling against me playfully.

“…Hmph!” Arisa muttered.

“Nee-san, just give it up,” Aina teased.

“I-I can do it too… Hmph!” Arisa huffed, attempting the same move.

She got her leg up impressively high—pretty close, actually—but when it came to flexibility, Aina clearly had the edge by a mile or two.

“…Fine, everyone’s got their strengths,” Arisa sighed. “In that case, I’ll let Hayato-kun enjoy this kind of softness!”

“Huh?” I blinked.

Arisa stepped closer, grabbed my hand, and pressed it against her chest. The moment I felt the plush give of her curves through her uniform, my left hand was practically in paradise. Not to be outdone, Aina seized my free right hand and guided it to her own chest.

“Nee-san’s soft, sure, but so am I,” Aina said with a grin. “There’s no ‘better’ here, so enjoy us both, okay?”

“How’s it feel? Nice, right?” Arisa asked, her voice teasing.

“Y-Yeah…” I stammered.

The slightest pressure from my fingers sank into their softness, despite the faint barrier of their bras. Their muffled gasps and heated gazes as I adjusted my grip sent my heart racing.

“…Getting flustered over this kind of naughty stuff is only natural,” I said, trying to keep my cool. “But letting me touch you like this—it’s a sign of trust, isn’t it?”

“Exactly,” Arisa said softly.

“Yup,” Aina agreed.

“…I’m gonna keep protecting you both, always,” I said. “You’re my everything, and that just makes me want to work harder.”

No getting cocky—my goal is to keep striving to be the best version of myself. And it’s all because of them—because I have people I love, people I want by my side forever.

“Hehe, talking like that while we’re letting you feel us up is a bit absurd,” Arisa giggled.

“It’s fine! It’s totally us,” Aina said with a laugh.

“My hands are in heaven right now, and it’s honestly kind of overwhelming—” I started.

“What’s overwhelming?” Arisa asked, smirking.

“Where’s it overwhelming?” Aina added, her grin just as mischievous.

They latched onto my words, closing the distance with sly smiles.

“Uh, w-well…” I fumbled.

But then, a voice echoed from the living room entrance.

We turned, stiff as broken dolls, to see Sakuna-san standing there, her face flushed with awkwardness.

“!?” I froze.

“What!?” Arisa gasped.

“No!?” Aina squeaked.

We’d been so caught up in the moment that we hadn’t noticed her return. Our faces burned red for a good while after that.

“My girls might have that youthful firmness,” Sakuna-san said, her tone playful, “but I’m still pretty soft myself, you know…?”

“S-Sakuna-san!?” I yelped.

Her comment sparked a ridiculous debate about whose chest was the softest, which, let’s just say, put me through quite the ordeal
