Thank you for picking up volume 5 of What Happens When You Save Two Beautiful Sisters Who Hate Men Without Giving Your Name?

The fact that Otomae has reached five volumes is entirely thanks to all of you who read this work.

Above all, I owe immense gratitude to Giuniu-sensei, who handles the illustrations for Otomae. Despite their busy schedule, they deliver stunning cover art and illustrations every time—truly, no amount of thanks is enough. Thank you, thank you so much.

So, how were Hayato and the sisters this time?

They’re as lovey-dovey as ever, but in a way, the bonds beyond Hayato and the sisters progressed, don’t you think?

A relationship they kept quiet about was revealed for the first time, and while it was somewhat accepted, who knows what might happen next—or maybe nothing will.

As the story shifts to summer, how did you all spend yours?

The beach, pools, festivals, fireworks displays… As for me, I stayed home quietly writing novels (laughs).

Also, the manga adaptation is ongoing, and the collected volumes are out, so please check those out too!

Thinking about it, it’s amazing how big Otomae has become as a project… Of course, I hoped it would sell when publishing, and I wanted it to grow and reach more people, for Otomae to spread! That was my goal, and seeing it actually grow like this is truly joyful.

With over 150,000 copies sold cumulatively, seeing results in numbers is a huge joy, and knowing so many people love it… it’s not just happiness but also a massive motivation boost.

Good results are thrilling, but working on these books teaches me so much—like how different regions are from where I grew up.

For example, high school sports festivals… Mine was right after summer break, but some regions hold them in June. When I mentioned our sports festival is in September, people were shocked, saying, “Huh!?” and I was just as shocked by their reaction. Learning these regional differences was eye-opening.

Meeting fellow authors, illustrators, editors, and others has taught me about these gaps, which helps in crafting stories.

As time passes and volumes pile up, I realize I can’t do anything alone. Writing the story is my job, but completing it takes so many people’s cooperation.

Giving my all within those connections… that slightly gritty mindset is so important, I’m always reminded.

Gratitude, gratitude, and more gratitude—the more I think about it, the stronger it grows.
