[ENG] Nawagami-san Wants to Be Tied Up Volume 1 Afterword

Afterword

It’s an honor to write for you. This is Kurosagi Mayu.

This project was written under the theme: ‘Wouldn't it be hot if an S-type heroine was D.M. only to the protagonist?’ Although there was quite a policy shift from the initial concept pitch, I believe the core concept remained consistent and ultimately came to a close here.

In a different vein. This project was a significant challenge for me.

That's not to say 'Let's strike a blow against today's compliance culture, yeah!' Not at all. It's because the attempt to deliver a romantic comedy straightforwardly as a romantic comedy was a novel experience for me, and one that proved rather difficult.

As a writer whose main weapon is usually spinning complex character histories and human dramas, I approached this story as a challenger…

How did you find it? Did you enjoy it?

Speaking for myself as the writer, I had quite a lot of fun, and frankly, Seren’s D.M. and perverted statements sometimes moved beyond my control as the author.

I’ve heard it said that characters are vital in light novels, and that characters who move naturally on their own are ideal. From that perspective, I sometimes wonder if I briefly entered that zone, though I might be exaggerating.

Still, there were moments when Seren suddenly started demanding things like, 'If you make any trouble, I’ll make you spank my ass.' Even I, as the author, genuinely thought, What the hell is this character saying?!

But those moments are part of what makes her so uniquely S and M and a little bit pure—that's why I find her adorable.

My deepest gratitude goes to Yuga-sama, who handled the illustrations.

I love the visual design of all the characters, but Seren, in particular, was perfect. Her charm increased dramatically thanks to Yuga-sama’s illustrations, no question. I will endeavor to further refine my writing so I can commission more of a 'melted' Seren, and perhaps other characters too!

Furthermore, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the designers, proofreaders, and typesetters who helped shape this book, as well as the current and former editors who tirelessly worked on this.

As for the title: The fact that there were no scenes involving actual 'rope' bondage is something I ask you to keep an open mind about, perhaps as something to look forward to in the future.

Until next time.
