Prologue
—The arch-nemesis of our organization was sitting right across from me at a group date.
As everyone around us ordered drinks left and right without a care for age restrictions, she alone asked for water. The moment she noticed me—her former enemy—she blatantly averted her eyes and started the bizarre act of sucking at empty air through her straw.
Her name was Ritsuka Yanagi. Back then, she was eighteen.
A few years ago, she was the strongest esper who had relentlessly hunted me down.
And a few years from now, she would become my wife.
My second impression of her? A socially inept, downright peculiar woman.
