E-Book Exclusive: Reiko Netora Spills the Tea
And now, it’s time for the e-book purchase bonus!
Yo, what’s good? Reiko Netora here.
This is basically the bonus track, y’know? Like those anime-original movies where you’re like, “Wait, if this guy’s on the team, doesn’t that mean they already beat that boss? And the hero’s awakened, but that jerk’s still alive? What’s the timeline here?” Look, don’t sweat the small stuff. Read the room, alright? My room.
I plopped down onto a pipe chair in the literature club room, kicking things off.
Hmph… Might as well use this chance for a little self-introduction, backstage style. Ain’t often you get a moment to dish on character commentary like this. I jabbed a thumb at myself, grinning.
Reiko Netora.
Your one and only protagonist—your avatar in this story. That’s me, baby.
A passionate, hardworking gal who never gives up on her dreams, a shining superheroine of light that everyone acknowledges as the embodiment of friendship, effort, and victory. Bet you’re all relating hard to me, huh? Go on, sing my praises!
Anyway, we’ve got a little literature club meeting today, but Yuu-kun and Yuri-chan are running late with some errands.
Bored out of my mind, I grabbed a random book from the clubroom shelf and started flipping through it without really reading.
…Man, I never thought this’d actually become a book.
I let my thoughts drift back to how this all came together.
This story got scooped up from some HJ Novel Award thing, turning my web novel into a proper book. But, y’know, the original web version was… let’s say unique. Like throwing a BBQ in someone else’s backyard without asking. Yeah, I ain’t elaborating—figure it out. Read the room.
When the book deal was sealed, people around me were like, “Are you serious?” or “Free the judges’ families!” They had a field day. Relax, guys—the hostages are free now.
I shut the book—couldn’t focus anyway—and glanced up at the ceiling with a small sigh.
…Whether my grand plan to wreck Yuu-kun’s brain with NTR vibes will reach its conclusion, I don’t know.
This is a commercial work, after all. If I can’t keep my editor, Mr. A, fed, I might have to cleanly slice my own belly open, y’know?
But I’m not giving up. No matter how tough the road, I’ll keep clawing forward.
This is my story, and I’ve got manufacturer’s liability, you feel me?
This burning desire to shatter human minds and plunge them into despair… nobody’s gonna take that freedom from me. I won’t forgive any vile monster that tries to trample on people’s freedom. Respect diversity, damn it! Don’t discriminate against me!
My stance hasn’t changed, past life or present. I’ll keep pushing until my actions bear fruit.
I gripped my right wrist with my left hand, glaring at the blue sky outside the window.
No matter the era, I’ll always chase freedom. That’s what it means to be—
“Rei-chan, sorry we’re late!”
“Uh, we got held up by a teacher…”
Whoops, there’s Yuu-kun and Yuri-chan.
As the two burst through the clubroom door, I flashed them a dazzling smile.
“Hey, good work, you two! I just got here myself, so no need to rush.”
My angelic grin had them melting like they’d just bitten into sweet fruit.
God, what adorable people… If I could cloud their eyes with despair, they’d sparkle prettier than any gem. So damn tempting.
And so, as I schemed about dragging these lovable, kindhearted folks into the depths of hell, the literature club meeting began.
