Afterword
Nice to meet you, I’m Mizugame.
I am thrilled to announce that my work, Reincarnated as the NTR Antagonist in a Manga, I Tried to Live Seriously, but Why Is the Voluptuous Heroine Aggressively Coming Onto Me?, won a Special Award in the Romantic Comedy category at the 9th Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest. This achievement has led to the publication of this work as a book. During the process of preparing it for publication, I decided to change the title as a precautionary measure, sensing some mysterious forces at play (how cryptic!).
This work marks my debut as a commercial author, and since this is our first encounter, allow me to introduce myself. My birthday is February 18, and my blood type is AB. My favorite sweet is cheesecake.
Just before graduating high school, I became visually impaired due to an illness. This sudden change forced me to rethink my future and left me struggling with the loss of things I could once do with ease. The hardest part was no longer being able to enjoy my hobbies—manga and video games—because I could no longer see them. With time on my hands, I clung to a phone with text-to-speech functionality and dove into the vast ocean of the internet.
That’s when I discovered web novels. When I could see, I had never considered reading novels, but I decided to give them a try. The result? I was hooked. Web novels allowed me to experience countless stories, and by using my imagination, I could visualize them in ways that surpassed even manga. For someone who had lost their hobbies, web novels were a salvation—a true oasis for my heart.
This newfound passion led me to try my hand at writing. I began posting my stories online, and to my surprise, people read them. Their feedback fueled my enthusiasm, and I kept writing, which brings us to where I am today.
That’s enough about me. I’d like to conclude with some words of gratitude.
To Neshia-sama, the illustrator: Thank you for bringing the voluptuous heroine to life with such alluring charm! The cool and charismatic villain, Goda-kun, is absolutely perfect as well! Meeting you at the appreciation event, I was struck by your passionate and earnest nature, which gave me complete confidence in entrusting my characters to you. Thank you for making them so captivating.
To my editor: Thank you for your insightful advice on the work and for patiently teaching me about the light novel industry. Despite the challenges I may have caused, your support, along with everyone else involved, made this book possible. I am deeply grateful.
To my beloved wife: You’ve supported me in countless ways, from handling revisions and communicating with my editor to assisting with daily life, all because of my visual impairment. You celebrated this award even more than I did, and I’m endlessly thankful for your constant support. I’ll keep pushing forward. Thank you so much!
And finally, to everyone who has picked up this book: Whether you were drawn by the illustrations, the title, or have been following the web version, I see this as a fateful encounter. I’m grateful for your support and will continue to dedicate myself to writing novels so we can keep this connection alive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
