[ENG] Ichizuna kanojo ga fura rete kurenai Volume 1 Afterword

Afterword

Hello, this is Maromi Maroyaka, whose stiff shoulders just won’t get better.

Hello to those who are meeting me for the first time. To those who are not, it’s been a while. Thank you so much for picking up My Single-Minded Girlfriend Won’t Get Dumped.

This work is a reconstruction for book publication of My Worrisome and Single-Minded Girlfriend Won’t Give Up on Me at All, which was published on the web, with the story’s core and main characters remaining the same.

Since it’s a work I posted five years ago, to be honest, when I was approached about publishing it, I thought, “Why???” But thanks to a rare opportunity, I was able to turn it into a book, as a product, and make it even more interesting.

And to those who supported me back on the web and have now also picked up the book, I would like to express my special gratitude.

It’s really been a while. I never thought we would meet again in this way. I’m thrilled.

Thanks to everyone’s support, Sakuraba-kun, Yunagi-san, and Shirato-san have become a book after five years. Man, you never know what will happen in a writer’s life.

Well, since the pages are limited, let’s talk about the work.

This work holds a slightly different position among the stories I have written.

After all, the main character, Sakuraba-kun, is quite a problem child. He’s logical and has solidified his own depression with resignation and affirmation. The fact that he doesn’t cause trouble for others is, in a way, even more troublesome.

I, as the author, would like to give a round of applause to Yunagi-san, who conquered Sakuraba-kun with her energy, perseverance, and single-mindedness.

However, it seems that even back on the web, there are quite a few people who can sympathize with Sakuraba-kun’s way of thinking about romance. And quite deeply.

Especially recently, I think the number of people who intentionally don’t have a partner, or who have little desire to get married, is increasing.

On the other hand, this is a way of thinking that people who can’t sympathize with it will never be able to understand. I think the way you read this work will change greatly depending on which type of person you are.

However, I also believe that “novels, including light novels, are there to be close to the hearts of minorities.”

In fact, it was through a novel that I first met someone who understood me (or rather, I felt understood), and I was able to affirm myself. It was a long time ago, though.

Now that I am a writer, I hope that my own works can, in some small way, become a source of understanding for someone.

I would be happy if this work could become a best friend to people whose love for things is greater than their romantic feelings.

Well then, once again, a word of thanks.

To Dash X Bunko, who gave me the opportunity to publish this book, and to my editor, Kato-san, I am very grateful. Thank you.

Especially to Kato-san, I caused you a lot of trouble. I will strive to be a better business partner in the future, so please continue to support me.

And to Monoto-san, who created the delicate and cute illustrations. The illustrations that were sent to me were a source of comfort and great vitality during the publication preparation.

Thank you for giving wonderful forms to the characters I have loved for many years.

And to all the readers.

Thank you so much for spending your precious time and money on this work.

I will continue to do my best to give back more than what I have received.

Well then, I hope to see you again somewhere.

May only good things happen to you.

May 2025, Maromi Maroyaka
