Afterword
Nice to meet you to those reading for the first time, and long time no see to those who read my previous series.
This is my first publication from GA Bunko in a while. I am Sakuragi Sakura.
First of all, thank you for picking up this work, 【The Childhood Friend Who Thinks She's a Losing Heroine But Has Already Won】.
There were twists and turns leading up to publication, but for the time being, I am relieved that we were able to release it safely.
The theme of this work is the Heroine Race.
The original rough concept was something like, "A Childhood Friend Who Has Already Won but Mistakenly Believes Herself to Be the Losing Heroine."
Actually, the prologue romcom setup of "Childhood friend starts panicking because a transfer student arrived" is something I’ve been thinking about for a very long time (since before the concept of "Make her kiss"! is a reference to another work), but I hadn't been able to give it form.
So being able to turn it into a story like this fills me with a sense of accomplishment.
The protagonist is a man loved by the God of Romcoms.
Not only his childhood friend, but transfer students and step-sisters pop up around him like heroines. But since he is devoted and single-minded toward his childhood friend, it doesn't become a romcom race.
As for Manaka-chan’s rival, Amasawa-san, I arbitrarily think of her as the "Shadow Protagonist."
She is a character who stands in the reader’s perspective and observes the romcom between the protagonist and the heroine.
Unlike the eccentric protagonist and main heroine, she is surprisingly a person of common sense.
Personally, I quite like her.
Manaka-chan is exactly as the title says. She looks like a Losing Heroine, but actually, she’s won.
But I feel like "Blonde Blue-Eyed Tsundere" leans toward being a winning attribute.
However, she’s a girl who doesn't realize that and thinks she might lose because she’s the "Childhood Friend."
Now then, I would like to offer my acknowledgments.
To Kurota-sensei, who was in charge of the illustrations. Manaka’s character design was exactly as I imagined. Thank you very much.
Personally, I like the bikini illustration for the acrylic stand figure included with the limited edition the best.
I am planning a swimsuit episode for Volume 2, so I am looking forward to it.
To everyone involved in this book, and above all to the readers who purchased this book, I would like to offer my gratitude once again.
I pray that we can meet again in Volume 2.
