And let me say thank you once again for the fact that this work was able to be published in book form. From the time I started the serialization on Kakuyomu until now, there have been many twists and turns, but I was able to receive the Special Award and the Comicalization Award at the 10th Kakuyomu-Con. Thank you so much!
I always look forward to receiving comments from everyone, and while it was a struggle at times, I had a great time writing. This work is a bit different from a typical sweet, pure love story, which made it difficult, but I’m overjoyed that it was evaluated in this way.
Now, let me touch briefly on the content of this volume.
For those of you who have read the Kakuyomu version, you’ll probably realize that for this book publication, I’ve done a massive rewrite to the point where it’s practically a different work. It’s almost like a new work, but it might be easier to think of it as a “prequel” to the Kakuyomu version.
The reason I did such a major rewrite was because I felt that in the Kakuyomu version, I had rushed through the process of “Iori and Mizuki becoming a couple,” and I wanted to depict it more carefully so that readers could feel the slightly distorted relationship between the two of them more deeply.
Therefore, in this first volume, I’ve focused on clearly depicting the process leading up to Iori and Mizuki dating. If we are lucky enough to publish a second volume, the story of Iori and Mizuki’s life as a couple will begin. I hope to make that even sweeter and even more mysterious, so I would be grateful for your support!
Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in this work, including the staff of the Sneaker Bunko editorial department, the sales department, the proofreaders, and the printing office.
To my editor: with the excessive rewrites followed by even more rewrites, the countless revisions to the plot, and the endless battle with deadlines...
