Chapter 4 | “A New Spark and the Time to Resolve”
The next day, Monday—somehow, the atmosphere around me felt different than usual.
And that’s because—.
“Hey, those two…”
“No doubt about it…”
We were being stared at unusually by the people we passed by.
To begin with, Charlotte-san’s eye-catching appearance always drew attention, but since this was our usual route to school, the locals had gotten used to it and stopped staring recently.
Yet today, students from other schools and even adults were looking at us strangely.
More than anything, Charlotte-san had been wearing a gloomy expression the whole time.
“Charlotte-san, did you figure something out?”
“No… But it feels like they know something about me or Akihito-kun…”
Her hearing was unusually sharp, so she’d been picking up what the people passing by were saying.
It didn’t seem like they were exchanging any decisive words, but they were definitely focused on me and Charlotte-san.
If it was about the sports festival—that would only affect the students at our school.
There’s no way it would’ve spread to other schools.
If that’s the case, could the Himeragi conglomerate have done something…?
They’d said they’d let her be free during high school and overlook her being here for now—but they weren’t exactly trustworthy.
It seemed we’d need to stay on guard.
“Charlotte-san, stick close to me, okay?”
“Yes…”
Charlotte-san tightened her grip on the arm she was clinging to.
She must’ve been scared, not knowing the situation and being stared at by everyone.
Emma-chan was pressing her face into my chest, acting spoiled, so there was no worry about her face being seen.
After dropping Emma-chan off at preschool, we headed to school—.
“—Charlotte-san, Aoyagi-kun, are you okay…!?”
Shimizu-san came rushing over, her face pale with worry.
It seemed something had indeed happened.
“For some reason, a lot of people were staring at us on the way here… but nothing happened to us.”
“What’s going on? That level of worry isn’t normal, right?”
“Sorry, I only just found out myself, but—”
Shimizu-san briefly explained what was happening.
Apparently, a student had secretly filmed the sports festival, including my match with Akira and Charlotte-san clinging to me, and uploaded it to a popular video site.
The uploader was an influencer with tens of thousands of subscribers.
However, she didn’t usually post soccer videos—just daily life stuff—so it initially spread because of Charlotte-san’s cuteness.
Later, it caught the attention of soccer fans, and since Akira was my opponent, I ended up getting identified.
Then, bad rumors got posted in the comments, and people who didn’t know the situation but wanted to bash me jumped in, causing it to spread several times over.
The original video had already been deleted, but with reuploads popping up, it was impossible to contain.
“An issue unique to an era where anyone can easily upload videos…”
“This isn’t the time to be saying something so carefree…! It’s been spreading like crazy since the weekend…!”
True, this wasn’t a normal rate of spread.
If this video was why people were staring at us on the way here, it must’ve reached a huge range.
It was honestly rare that Shimizu-san had only just gotten this info.
Well, Riku was at Shimizu-san’s house until yesterday, so maybe she hadn’t been online much.
“I’m fine, but I’m worried about Charlotte-san…”
Charlotte-san was incredibly cute, even without a boyfriend’s bias.
If she wanted, she could easily become a top idol.
In other words, there was a chance that weirdos who’d taken a liking to her looks from the video might approach her.
“I’m actually more worried about you, Aoyagi-kun… There’s stuff like ‘I can’t forgive a bad guy having such a cute girlfriend’ and even more dangerous things written…”
“I’d like to say they don’t have the guts—but I can’t brush it off like that…”
This was different from when word spread around school that I was dating Charlotte-san.
Among the people leaving threatening comments, it wouldn’t be surprising if some were seriously considering harming me.
“Ah, Akihito-kun, what should we do…?”
“That’s—”
“—At times like this, don’t try to figure it out just among kids.”
A voice suddenly came from behind, and I turned around in surprise.
“M-Miyu-sensei…”
“This isn’t something kids can handle alone. Aoyagi, Charlotte, follow me.”
We were led by a stern-looking Miyu-sensei out to the hallway.
Then, we went to a secluded spot with no one around—.
“…………”
There was a teary-eyed girl with a dark expression.
I felt like I’d seen her before.
If I remembered right, she was a first-year who’d once asked if I was dating Karin.
“Who’s she?”
“The student who uploaded the video. She realized how bad the situation got and came to consult me earlier.”
I thought it was fast to find her, but it turned out she confessed herself.
Consulting Miyu-sensei instead of her own homeroom teacher must mean this first-year trusted her that much.
“I-I didn’t mean any harm…! I just got a great video and wanted everyone to see it, so I uploaded it…!”
“That’s not the point. You should apologize first.”
Miyu-sensei gave the girl a harsh look as she tried to explain.
She was pretty angry…
“I-I’m sorry…”
“What’s your name?”
I asked the frightened girl in a gentle tone, consciously smiling.
For some reason, Charlotte-san pressed her hand to her forehead like she had a headache, but I didn’t think I’d done anything wrong…
“Um… I’m Nikaidou Himeka…”
“Nikaidou-san, huh? You probably already know, but I’m Aoyagi Akihito, a second-year.”
I gave a quick introduction first.
We’d talked before, but I’d never given my name.
“Do you often upload videos, Nikaidou-san?”
“Huh…? Y-Yes…”
Nikaidou-san nodded slightly, though she seemed confused.
She probably didn’t expect me to bring up this topic.
“Then, from now on, when you upload something with people’s faces, make sure to get their permission. There’s stuff like portrait rights, you know.”
“From now on…? That’s it…?”
“There’s no point in dwelling on what’s already happened. It must’ve taken courage to tell a teacher yourself, and I think it’s great you did that. So as long as you reflect on uploading it without permission and don’t do it again, that’s enough for me. The fact it’s become a big deal is my fault anyway.”
I hadn’t seen the video, but she probably uploaded it without malice, just as she said.
In this day and age, some kids casually upload even bad stuff like part-time job pranks, so it’s not surprising she did this.
Since she was reflecting, I didn’t feel like blaming her.
“You’re as soft as ever, Aoyagi…”
“Blaming her won’t fix this situation. No matter how much we blame her, it won’t change anything, right, Charlotte-san?”
“Yes, what’s done is done. Please be careful not to do this again. It’ll protect you too.”
When I passed it to Charlotte-san, she gave a gentle smile and advised her too.
Like she said, avoiding this kind of thing was for her own sake too.
Casually uploading videos that infringe on others’ rights could get her sued.
That’s why rules have to be followed.
Following rules protects you too, after all.
“Ah, Aoyagi-senpai, Bennett-senpai… Thank you…!”
Nikaidou-san let the tears in her eyes fall and bowed deeply.
I’d like to think those tears weren’t an act but proof she was genuinely sorry.
“That’s how it is, Nikaidou. You got off easy because it was Aoyagi and them, but normally, you could’ve been sued. Keep that in mind and be careful with your activities from now on.”
“Yes… I’m so sorry for the trouble…”
“I’m not threatening you, but you should assume this has become a pretty big deal. We might need your help with something later, so lend a hand if we ask.”
“Y-Yes, of course…!”
She nodded earnestly, then headed back to her classroom at Miyu-sensei’s urging.
I didn’t know how far ahead Miyu-sensei was thinking, but with an influencer who had tens of thousands of fans, she might indeed be useful later.
“What’ll happen to her punishment?”
I asked Miyu-sensei while watching Nikaidou-san’s retreating back, curious about something.
“Normally, it’d be a suspension, but since she came forward herself and you guys forgave her, I’m thinking a stern warning will do.”
“Please do that. She didn’t mean any harm.”
“Not meaning harm doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want, though…”
Miyu-sensei stared at me, looking troubled.
“Honestly, we’ll need time to figure out what to do next, but I’ve already decided one thing for now. For your safety, Aoyagi and Charlotte, I’ll drive you to and from school.”
“Is that really necessary…?”
“I can’t let anything happen to you students, even if it’s a slim chance. We don’t know what percentage of those threatening comments are serious, but I’ve contacted the police just in case.”
As a teacher, she had to prepare for the worst-case scenario.
I doubted the police would act right away just because the school requested it, but it’d be nice if they did something.
“Then… sorry for the trouble, but please do.”
I could handle it myself, but I didn’t want to drag Charlotte-san into danger.
Relying on Miyu-sensei to ensure even a bit more safety was the priority here.
But aside from the danger, there was one other thing on my mind—.
“With things like this, will it affect my special recommendation…?”
The uproar had even dragged the school into it.
Miyu-sensei was a good person who put us first, but some teachers probably saw this as a hassle.
It’d be wise to assume my reputation had dropped with them.
However—.
“You haven’t done anything wrong, Aoyagi. So I won’t let this affect your recommendation or let other teachers interfere.”
It seemed Miyu-sensei would protect me.
She really was a reliable and kind teacher.
“Thank you.”
I expressed my relief and gratitude.
Then, Charlotte-san fidgeted like she wanted to say something.
“What’s wrong?”
“Um… Akihito-kun, are you aiming for a special recommendation…? I’d heard there was one at this school, but…”
“Aoyagi, you… still hadn’t told her?”
Miyu-sensei gave me a look that was both exasperated and accusatory.
I mean, I get why she’d say that…
“I just hadn’t found the right time…”
“Liar, you just didn’t want to tell her, right?”
Well, I didn’t want to worry her unnecessarily, so I hadn’t brought it up.
But since she was concerned now, I had to tell her.
“It’s a condition to become part of the Himeragi conglomerate. Getting a special recommendation from a certain university.”
I told her the truth without any lies.
“That’s why you’re still an Aoyagi, huh…”
She’d probably been curious about it for a while.
Normally, if you’re adopted, you take the family name of your adoptive parents.
But my family name hadn’t changed since way back.
The meaning was simple.
“I haven’t been officially recognized as part of the Himeragi conglomerate yet.”
When I said that, Charlotte-san lowered her eyes sadly.
Then she tightly gripped the sleeve of my clothes.
She was a kind girl, so she must’ve felt sympathy for me.
“By the way, have you told the Himeragi family about Charlotte?”
“Well, yeah…”
I told them—or rather, they already knew…
“…A serious guy like you probably struggles with choices sometimes. Come talk to me if you need to.”
I wasn’t sure how she interpreted my vague response, but Miyu-sensei gave me a gentle smile.
Among the adults close to me, she was the most trustworthy.
“Muu… I’m here too, you know…?”
As I looked at Miyu-sensei, Charlotte-san tugged at my clothes with a little pout.
Her cheeks were puffed up.
It seemed she was jealous.
“Of course, I’ll talk to Charlotte-san about anything I can.”
I dodged it within the bounds of truthfulness and shifted my gaze back to Miyu-sensei.
“Miyu-sensei, thank you for everything. It’s about time for short homeroom, so let’s head back to the classroom.”
With that, I turned away from Miyu-sensei.
However—.
“Hey, Aoyagi. Talk properly with Kanon. She’s not mad at you and is still on your side.”
Miyu-sensei said something unexpected.
“…Huh?”
For a moment, I couldn’t process her words and reflexively turned back to her.
Did she just say Kanon…?
“Why… do you know about Kanon-san…?”
“I’ll tell you when the time comes. That’s all I can say for now.”
Since when had they known each other?
Miyu-sensei had never hinted at it before.
Had they only recently met?
Even so, why hide it?
I knew she wasn’t the type to mess with me for no reason, but without answers, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
“What I wanted to say is what I just told you. The rest is up to you.”
With that, Miyu-sensei walked off ahead.
“Akihito-kun, who’s Kanon-san…?”
“She’s… the young lady of the Himeragi conglomerate. My adoptive older sister, I guess…?”
“Eh!? That means…”
Charlotte-san looked at Miyu-sensei’s back with disbelief in her eyes.
She probably had the same question I did.
Why Miyu-sensei was connected to Kanon-san was a mystery—but it seemed what she wanted to say was that I should talk to Kanon-san.
She’d said it despite knowing I’d be suspicious, so it must’ve been that important. I had to believe that.
“It’s fine. Let’s trust Miyu-sensei.”
I said that, patting Charlotte-san’s head to reassure her, then headed back to the classroom with her.
◆◆◆
During class—I was thinking about what to do next.
There was the Himeragi conglomerate issue, but I couldn’t ignore the video and the uproar either.
No… if you traced it back, the video and uproar were caused by the Himeragi conglomerate too.
It wasn’t like I had no options.
There was a way to turn things around, though it’d mean completely turning against the Himeragi conglomerate.
But that’d be like drawing a bow against the people who’d taken care of me.
It wasn’t something I could do lightly.
Still—.
“…Ah.”
I glanced at Charlotte-san and our eyes met perfectly.
She seemed happy about it and gave me a small wave with a smile.
That smile alone was something I had to protect, no matter what.
—Yes, even if it meant making an enemy of the Himeragi conglomerate.
After waiting for class to end, I went off alone and made a call somewhere.
◆◆◆
“—Ah, Akihito-senpai…!”
During lunch break, when we went to the hallway with the first-year classrooms, Kousaka-san noticed us and ran over.
“Don’t run in the hallway.”
“This isn’t the time to be so carefree…!”
For some reason, her response gave me a sense of déjà vu.
“Panicking won’t help. Let’s head to the cafeteria instead.”
The reason we’d come to the first-year hallway was because Kousaka-san was going to eat with us starting today.
That’s why she was holding a bento box in her hands.
Well, I had a bento today too.
“Why is this guy so laid-back when it’s about himself…?”
“He’s always been like that. What’s so surprising now?”
Kousaka-san looked unconvinced, while Akira tilted his head in exasperation.
That must’ve rubbed her the wrong way.
Kousaka-san narrowed her eyes for a moment before speaking with a playful expression.
“Oh, Saionji-senpai, you’re here too?”
“I’ve been here from the start…! And just so you know, I was eating with Akihito first…!”
The misunderstanding between Kousaka-san and Akira should’ve been cleared up, but these two still didn’t get along.
With serious Kousaka-san and goofy Akira, maybe it couldn’t be helped.
“There, there, no fighting, no fighting.”
I stepped between them, reminded of middle school days.
Back then, I often played the mediator like this.
“Aoyagi-kun always seems older than us…”
“K-Karin-chan, that’s a landmine for Akihito-kun…!”
Charlotte-san and Karin were whispering about something, but it was nice to see their distance shrinking.
Hanging out over the weekend must’ve paid off.
“Oh, by the way…”
Kousaka-san seemed to realize something and stepped in front of Charlotte-san and Karin.
That made Karin flinch and dart behind me to hide.
“…………”
Kousaka-san drooped sadly, having been avoided before she could even speak.
Somehow, I felt bad for both of them.
“Kaede-chan, Karin-chan isn’t used to talking much, so approach her slowly so you don’t startle her.”
Yup, Charlotte-san.
Was Karin some kind of small animal?
I wanted to quip that, but since what she said wasn’t wrong, it was hard to tease.
Also, Karin, I’d rather you not hide behind me at school since it causes misunderstandings…
“Shinonome-san, how about hiding behind Charlotte-san’s back in times like this?”
“Akihito, that’s not quite right either…”
I gently said that to Karin hiding behind me, and Akira joined in with a wry smile.
“Is it?”
“That way, Shinonome-san won’t ever talk to others. You’re too overprotective, Akihito.”
“Well, yeah…”
I couldn’t say I wasn’t aware of it.
But when she relied on me like that, I just wanted to protect her.
“She can get used to it slowly, right? That’s why we’ve got Akira and Kousaka-san here.”
Since Charlotte-san was so kind, Karin had wanted to get along with her.
Plus, after hanging out and cooking together yesterday, she’d gotten pretty comfortable with Charlotte-san, so I figured Akira and Kousaka-san could be her next practice partners.
“No, no, I’ve been here from the start!? And if that’s the case, we don’t need her, right!?”
Akira quipped while pointing at Kousaka-san.
“Keep your voice down. And Kousaka-san’s a good kid too, you know? I’ve said that since way back.”
“Only to you…!”
He really didn’t like Kousaka-san, huh.
Akira was a nice guy at heart, so it must just be a compatibility issue.
“Um, Shinonome-senpai…”
Meanwhile, Kousaka-san cautiously approached Karin.
She was being careful not to startle her.
“W-What…?”
Karin peeked out halfway from behind me to look at Kousaka-san.
“Um, nice to meet you. I’m Kousaka Kaede. Looking forward to getting along.”
It seemed she wanted to introduce herself since they’d be eating lunch together every day from now on.
She didn’t know Karin was my little sister, so it showed how polite Kousaka-san naturally was.
“Ah, um… Shinonome Karin… Nice to meet you…”
Good, good, she introduced herself properly. Well done.
If I said that out loud, I’d probably get called overprotective again.
“Let’s head to the cafeteria soon.”
“Yes, if we’re too late, there might not be any seats left. Speaking of which…”
Kousaka-san glanced at Akira.
“Only one person actually needs to go to the cafeteria…”
Since I had a bento today too, Akira was the only one ordering from the cafeteria.
I knew what Kousaka-san was getting at, but…
“Hey, hey, don’t try to exclude him like that.”
“Just kidding. I’m not that petty.”
When I cautioned her, she tilted her head cutely to brush it off.
She didn’t like bullying, so it was probably just a joke like she said.
Still, her people skills seemed as clumsy as ever.
This time, we didn’t just invite Kousaka-san to be Karin’s conversation partner.
Charlotte-san had been worried that Kousaka-san might be isolated among the first-years, which was another reason we’d invited her.
Knowing her from middle school, I was aware she could be standoffish until she warmed up to people.
So I couldn’t dismiss Charlotte-san’s concern as overthinking, and we’d invited Kousaka-san through her.
Apparently, Kousaka-san had been really happy about it, so she might actually be isolated.
That’s why we planned to keep her in our group until she could make friends among the first-years.
“By the way, that person isn’t here, huh?”
As we walked toward the cafeteria, Kousaka-san looked around curiously and asked.
“That person?”
“You know, the gal-senpai who’s always hanging around Charlotte-senpai.”
Oh, she meant Shimizu-san.
“Shimizu-san eats lunch separately. She… has a lot of friends, you see.”
If Shimizu-san came over here, there was a high chance Kiriyama-san, Arasawa-san, and a bunch of other girls would tag along.
They all wanted to eat with Charlotte-san too, after all.
Shimizu-san was the one keeping them at bay, so she couldn’t join us.
Thanks to that, when she found out Kousaka-san would be eating with us today, she’d said to me sarcastically, “Oh, great. I’m the only one left out, huh? Hmm?”
By the way, she’d waited until I was alone to say it, so Charlotte-san didn’t know.
She sure had quite the personality, honestly.
“Lots of friends, huh~? Typical gal, I guess~.”
Maybe it was a sore spot—Kousaka-san’s eyes lost their light, and she started laughing with a blank stare.
Yup, creepy.
“Guess she really doesn’t have friends?”
Seeing Kousaka-san’s reaction, Akira whispered to me.
“Probably. Otherwise, she wouldn’t react like that to someone having lots of friends.”
“But she seems like she’d be popular, right? Personality aside, she’s short and has a cute face.”
I glanced at Kousaka-san’s face.
True, her features were well-balanced, and she’d been popular with the soccer team back in middle school.
But—she was blunt with her opinions and standoffish until you got to know her, so her personality probably made it hard to connect.
“Like a small animal—growling until she warms up, then she’s cute. That’s why her walls are so high, I bet.”
I answered, then immediately regretted it.
Because I’d said something that could cause another misunderstanding with Charlotte-san.
I’d kept my voice low, but with her ears, she’d probably catch it.
Sure enough, when I looked at Charlotte-san, she came trotting over.
“Don’t worry. I already know that to Akihito-kun, Kaede-chan is really cute.”
She said that with a smile as a follow-up.
So, what exactly was I supposed to feel relieved about?
Was it just me, or did it sound like she was totally holding a grudge?
Maybe it was the video thing from earlier, or maybe she was still hung up on the Miyu-sensei stuff, but Charlotte-san seemed on edge today.
“Not as a girl, but as a junior, so don’t get the wrong idea…?”
I brought my mouth close to Charlotte-san’s ear so only she could hear and explained.
She squirmed ticklishly in response.
Her face turned red and she jolted, which made Kousaka-san—who knows what she misunderstood—blush and give me a sidelong glare.
“So that’s the kind of person you are, Akihito-senpai…”
“It’s all a misunderstanding.”
This vicious cycle was giving me a headache.
Sure, I knew no one meant any harm, but…
“You’ve got it rough, huh…”
Akira seemed to get my struggle and patted my back with a pon.
Seriously, times like this made me grateful for guy friends.
◆◆◆
“—I had a hunch, but it’s a love-filled bento, huh?”
That came from Kousaka-san in the cafeteria after she saw the contents of my and Charlotte-san’s bentos.
She grinned, looking back and forth between me and Charlotte-san, clearly enjoying herself.
“Heh~ Love-filled bento, huh? Must be nice, you lovey-dovey couple.”
Meanwhile, Akira was sulking a bit as he looked at me.
Kousaka-san was happy to tease us, and Akira was just plain jealous.
Still, neither of them seemed upset, so it was fine.
After all—.
“I-It’s not that big a deal~!”
Charlotte-san, who was being talked about, looked really happy.
She was such an honest girl, honestly.
“You’re totally smitten, huh? You really love Akihito-senpai, don’t you?”
Seeing Charlotte-san’s expression, Kousaka-san gave a gentle smile.
She seemed kind of happy too, somehow.
“Akihito-kun is a really wonderful person, after all.”
“Um, Charlotte-san… I’m glad you’re praising me, but could you not say stuff like that too much…?”
“That’s some serious flirting.”
“Total flirting.”
Because then I’d end up getting teased like this…
I narrowed my eyes at Akira, who was grinning smugly.
Akira, you’re getting back at me for your jealousy by teasing me, huh…?
“Being close is a good thing, right…?”
Maybe she had some thoughts, because Karin, who’d been quiet, finally joined the conversation.
“I know, no one’s ashamed of it.”
“Nn.”
Karin nodded in satisfaction and went back to eating silently.
This girl was so laid-back…
“…………”
“Oh, sorry. You can do whatever you want, it’s fine.”
Charlotte-san had been looking at me anxiously, so I smiled back at her.
Like Karin said, being close was definitely a good thing.
If they teased me about it, I just had to own it.
“Is that okay…?”
“Of course it is.”
I nodded with a smile and turned to Akira and Kousaka-san.
“You two, keep it in moderation, okay?”
I said it with a grin, and they both nodded vigorously.
It seemed they got what I meant.
After that, as we chatted casually—.
“By the way, Akihito-senpai, you forgave the video uploader pretty easily, huh?”
Kousaka-san suddenly brought up this morning’s events.
“…Where’d you hear that?”
“I’m in the same class as Nikaidou-san. I overheard her talking to some other kids.”
“That girl…”
Why did she have to blab like that…?
Didn’t she realize she was digging her own grave…?
“Don’t make that sour face about it. Thanks to that, your and Charlotte-senpai’s stocks are skyrocketing among the first-year girls. Well, you were both super popular already.”
“What do you mean…?”
“She must’ve been really moved by how you forgave her. She said Akihito-senpai didn’t get mad at all about what she did—instead, he worried about her and gently scolded her. That all the hate online was his fault, so she shouldn’t worry, and that it was great she told a teacher herself. So among the first-year girls who heard it, your stock’s exploded. And since Charlotte-senpai scolded her gently too—that’s how it is.”
In short, Nikaidou-san was hyping up me and Charlotte-san to boost our rep.
It was slightly off from the truth, but not so much that it was a lie.
I hadn’t been kind to her expecting this, but if it meant our reputation went up among the first-years, that was a good thing.
Unlike before, I had to be a guy worthy of standing beside Charlotte-san now.
Still—.
“I figured Nikaidou-san might do that, but even the other kids…”
Charlotte-san looked shocked, so I might’ve messed up here.
Why had everything I’d done lately been backfiring…?
It didn’t used to be like this…
“It’s fine, Charlotte-senpai. Among the first-years, you and Akihito-senpai are their ‘otp’ now.”
“Otp…?”
“It means a couple they cheer for. After the sports festival, they decided to root for you guys. Plus with this now—everyone’s cheering you on, so no one’s gonna try to steal him. If someone did, they’d make enemies of everyone.”
Kousaka-san explained with a resigned smile.
The sports festival thing had a bigger impact than I’d thought.
It’d be nice if the guys felt the same way…
“You sure know a lot about the first-years. Guess you’ve got friends after all.”
“Ah, oi, Akira…”
I’m sure Akira didn’t mean any harm.
He’d stepped on a landmine with a relieved smile, totally oblivious.
“Aha, ahaha… Even without friends to talk to, you can hear what people around you are saying, right? No, actually, because I don’t have anyone to talk to, I can hear all the conversations happening in multiple places.”
Kousaka-san laughed with teary eyes and a lifeless gaze.
She really didn’t have any friends to talk to.
Seeing that smile made me feel so bad I could cry.
Charlotte-san must’ve felt the same—she was wiping her eyes with a handkerchief.
Akira finally realized he’d stepped on a landmine and awkwardly looked away.
But Karin alone—.
“Comrade…!”
She looked at Kousaka-san happily, which pained me as her brother.
