Interlude 6
Saigawa Rouji and Yanagi Ritsuka officially became a couple.
That didn’t change everything overnight, though.
At most, Yanagi Torachi ended up in the hospital, coughing blood, crying blood, nosebleeding, and worse.
Even with a new relationship, it takes time for how you exist together to evolve.
Laughing, crying, marveling, arguing, laughing again. They had fights where they couldn’t stand to see each other and moments where they craved only each other’s presence.
They went places, stacked memories, and lived through whirlwind days.
Rouji’s job hunt began, cutting their time together slightly. He got rejected a lot but eventually landed a job at a toy company. Ritsuka couldn’t see the connection between him and toys, and he didn’t have a deep reason either...just a gut feeling it’d be good.
He’s usually logical but sometimes acts on instinct. Ritsuka wondered if he got that from her; Rouji thought maybe he got it from Ritsuka. Being together changes you inside, bit by bit.
Once employed, their time together shrank more. Ritsuka felt lonely but saw Rouji, climbing adulthood’s steps, growing even more attractive.
Then her job hunt started. Rouji was speechless seeing her in a recruit suit, sensing a mature allure. She didn’t get what he meant.
Ritsuka got a job, graduated university, and they began living together. It wasn’t a planned decision...they just both assumed they’d share a home. Only Yoshino, Ritsuka’s old roommate, was exasperated.
Cohabiting reveals flaws clearly. Annoyances surface. They clashed, fought, but quickly fell deeper in love.
Rouji vaguely felt, even early on, he’d be with her until he died. One day, he decided to make it concrete. They should’ve done it right after moving in, but busyness delayed it.
Yes, a proposal. First, though… he had to scale a giant clay wall. Somehow, he managed, and gave a ring to his beloved.
...Thus, Saigawa Rouji and Saigawa Ritsuka became husband and wife.
