I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve successfully released the second volume of Otomae, the story of the beautiful sisters! As expected, it was an incredibly challenging journey. But amidst the hardships, what kept me going was the enthusiasm of readers who expressed their excitement for this second volume. Above all, my own determination to push forward played a huge role.
This time, Otomae’s second volume is being released simultaneously with the second volume of another work… and yes, for the second time, it was truly, truly tough! But seeing it all come together like this brings me such relief.
We aimed to make this volume even more exciting and romantic than the first, and I poured my heart into delivering that. But what truly elevated it was, as always, the incredible illustrations by Giuniu-sensei. The artwork is so adorable and so captivating… When I first saw the illustrations for this volume, I couldn’t help but let out an “Ohh…!” (laughs).
I packed in all the moments that would make your heart flutter—Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, and more. Scenes like the daringly revealing Santa outfits in the middle of winter or the kimono that comes undone with just a tug of the obi were especially fun to write… though, let’s be honest, everything ends up feeling a little steamy, doesn’t it? (laughs).
In closing, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who picked up this second volume. If fate allows, I hope we can meet again in a third volume!
